Synopsis
Chocky hopes, with Matthew and Albertine's help, to help the human race discover cosmic power, which unlike Earth's finite natural resources, will sustain them for as long as the universe itself exists. But their knowledge has aroused a great deal of interest from the military, and they are willing to take drastic action if they don't get what they want.

If society had just allowed the space rhombus to carry on mind controlling children to carry out unsupervised science experiments then we'd have free, clean energy by now!
The children are a bit more shrill this time round, the plot spells things out rather explicitly where the previous installments were a bit less obvious, and for a bunch of geniuses everyone does really stupid stuff as the plot requires, and the stakes never feel as high as they should be, what with a bunch of children having made contact with an alien intelligence and all, but Chocky's Challenge is still a decent ending to the series.

Review by Ryan McSwain ★★★½
Chocky's Challenge follows the events of Chocky and Chocky's Children, with child prodigy Albertine and freaky alien Chocky continuing their quest to help mankind despite all the obvious signs mankind just ain't ready. Matthew, the hero of the first two series, pops up but there's nothing for him to do. Even more problematically-possessed children show up, and we actually see progress on Chocky's plans. Let's just hope Chocky is the benefactor she's always claimed, or things could get real bad real quick.
Chocky's Challenge is the Batman Forever of the Chocky trilogy, but it's not quite Batman & Robin. At one point in the first episode, things go so far off the rails that I was convinced it was all a…

Review by TheNinthHeart ★★★★★
There’s this contemporary television series called Stranger Things. It shamefully & directly apes it’s central premise from this gripping, groundbreaking triumph of science fiction from 1984
Chocky is one of the reigning kings of the UK’s mighty Golden Era (late 60s-mid 90s) of children’s fantasy/horror/sci-fi miniseries
All three movements (Chocky, Chocky’sChildren, Chocky’sChallenge) are nothing short of essential

Review by Aric Maiden ★★★½
'Challenge' is a satisfying conclusion to the Chocky story that is more explicit than the earlier two series combined. Increasingly more people learn of Chocky's existence, and begin to make real change in the world—even while the establishment try to manipulate or stop them. Chocky undoubtedly knows, though I can't remember if she states it in the earlier series, that children's minds are more malleable and accepting of change than those of adults. I believe the children are our future, indeed. I'm surprised there hasn't been a follow-up series, or a reboot in the last 20 years. I'd love an update on these children, their work, and even an alternate present that benefitted from it, provided they maintain the spare presentation and reliance on the inspiration of big ideas over special effects.
